Logo I designed for Argent LLC

This is the 4th or so time I’ve designed a logo, and again, it wasn’t the job description. I was just making a web site. It’s pretty cool though.

The company does asset protection, which is to say, they make it so people that have a bunch of money keep their money.

Argent is the silver color used in family crests.

I used a shield to reference a coat of arms and to symbolize trustworthiness and protection. The color argent shows up in crests usually as white, so I employed a lot of white in the logo (the grey background is not part of the logo).

It’s a thing that lives on the web and organized the junk drawer that is your mind.

A mosaic of a nude from painting I rendered from a photograph I took.

My work Lego Nude – which is, well, a nude rendered in Legos – won the People’s Choice Award at the Del Mar Fair. But, it didn’t even win an honorable mention with the judges.

So I’m going to interpret that result as demonstrating that I am too cutting edge for the establish hegemony, and chalk this up as further validation of my status at the preeminent post-post-modern art genius.

I also have another work of art from my wallpaper series on display of a pigeon on a coffee table at Caffe Trieste that I call “Trieste Regular.”

My work will be on display at the Del Mar Fair now through the end of the fair on July 4th.

Wrote this little thing to get my Flash chops up.

So I had to teach a class today on Flash. No biggie, right? Wrong.

A lot has changed since the 90s. ActionScript 3.0 won’t let you put scripts on buttons anymore. Which makes a lot of sense, because I was always loosing where I put my scripts (part of the reason I abandoned Flash so long ago). So it’s a little cleaner, but now everything has to be a function. Meh.

Here’s a little project I did to learn/remember how to make buttons do their thing. You click on one thing, it goes to another frame and stops. Click another thing and there’s a little animation with sound. And click one other thing and it links to a web page.

Here’s the article. It’s about a new thing that lets you crowdsource or be crowdsourced. It’s called AirRun and it’s an iPhone app.

Basically a dating site with chat.

Verdict: Meh.

My brother installed some of my art in his apartment. It looks pretty good up there.

I was going through my files and ran across this short video of me breathing fire.

I used to breathe fire at parties and burning man and stuff. I haven’t in a while. I don’t know why.
