Chalk Art at Arte di Gesso 2008

June 16th, 2008

Torrey’s Chalk art in North Beach

I just did a piece of chalk art for Arte di Gesso Italian Street Chalk Art on Vallejo, in front of The Shrine of Saint Francis for North Beach’s 54th Annual North Beach Festival. If you hurry, can go to Columbus and Vallejo and check it out.

This work has a bunch of hidden animals in it. See if you can pick them out: a cat, monkey, elephant, zebra and St. Francis himself. It was to honor Saint Francis, the Catholic patron saint of animals.

The Capp Street Girls debut. June 22nd, 7pm.

Special RSVP event for the first performance ever of my rock and roll band.

Here’s the email you got if you are lucky enough to be on my list. If you’re not on my list, sign up here.

Hello fellow conspirators,

I am having a private party for the debut of my rock band at our rehearsal space on June 22nd (Saturday Sunday) 7pm in San Francisco (SoMa).

If you are getting this email, that means you are invited. Count yourself as special (and please forward this to all the cool people and/or hot chicks that you know - they are special too).

We are about to hit it big (or not) and this will be your opportunity to say “I liked them before they were famous, but now they suck.” If you come, you will be in on the ground floor of the music sensation that is about to sweep the Nation. We call ourselves “The Capp Street Girls” (in the future you will find us on MySpace, MTV and thecappstreetgirls.com).

And if that is not enough incentive to come, I will also have a keg of Nommesen’s Private Reserve Heffeweisen (actual recipe as yet to be named) under the very exclusive 8 Bit Brewery label. This is a special brew I concocted to accomplish the triple goal of creating a brew that cuts down on hops (there is a hop shortage) and is appealing to the ladies (has the esters of banana and bubblegum) but has the kick of a Man’s beer.

All I need you to do is to commit and RSVP by the Wednesday before the event - June 18th - and you are in. I hate to do this, but space is limited - we have to pony up more cash the more fans we have.

And one more thing - I have my art on the walls at Vesuvio’s in North Beach. I have already sold a few pieces so you have to act fast (it’s up until the 15th) if you want some of my art before I raise the prices. Check my blog [um, you’re reading my blog right now] to see what’s there. ‘Girl on a Rock’ and ‘Study For Nude Mosaic 3′ are sold, so if you want a piece of me, reserve it and I’ll make sure it’s still there before I take it down - otherwise it’s gone.

So, to get in, RSVP - space is limited.

I love you, you are my fans. Without you I would be nothing.

****
If you get this line of text in between the two sets of four asterisks, it means you are not on my regular list. Please sign up or you are a loser. If you got this email twice, it might mean that I am a loser and didn’t know that you were also on my list. Alternatively, if you get this email and you don’t know me, that means I or someone I know thinks you are a hot chick and/or really cool. In any case, you are blessed. Count yourself as one of us.
****

Love,

Torrey Nommesen
